A GDPR seminar held at Worcester Sixways and hosted by IT managed services provider, EBC Group, was attended by 120 delegates who heard presentations from a variety of speakers including, Reynold Leming, the Conference Director for the Information and Records Management Society (IRMS).

A post event survey highlighted that less than half of respondents currently have a GDPR strategy in place, with less than 50% of those yet to have begun the process of implementing it. Fortunately the seminar seems to have provided some assistance, with a 97% of respondents saying it was ’Good or Excellent’, 69% stating that they found the content useful and 23% saying it had made them less fearful of GDPR.

The seminar was held in conjunction with EBC Group’s partners, Enterprise Content Management platform M-Files and showed organisations the practical steps they could take in order to become compliant with the new regulations and included speakers from a number of EBC Group’s partners that showed the steps organisations should take to tackle data management.

Richard Lane, Managing Director at EBC Group commented “Whilst many businesses are now at least aware of GDPR, far less have a plan as to how they will tackle the new law for either their existing data or an ongoing basis. With the deadline for compliance looming the time to act is definitely now!”
