« Back to Telephony & Connectivity

No matter the size of your business, the ability to connect to the Internet and communicate with your clients effectively is central to your success. EBC Group offers a range of high speed business grade connectivity options, that are designed to fit with your business needs and budget. Our solutions range from simple business broadband, to dedicated private leased lines.

Connectivity for now and the future

Getting the correct connectivity can make a huge difference to your business. It can mean the difference between your key business software and applications working properly, your staff being able to communicate effectively, your websites operating brilliantly and your business being opened up to the world of opportunity in the Cloud.

So why do so many businesses not have connectivity that is suitable for their needs? Sometimes it's because they are not aware of the different options available to them and sometimes they are saving money on their connectivity without realising that getting the right connectivity could actually save them significant costs on a range of other areas such as telephony or data storage.

Choosing the right connectivity?

When choosing what the right connectivity solution is for your business you will need to consider how critical internet uptime is to the running of your business, for example do you require an 'always on' connection? You should also assess how your business uses the internet, both now and in the future. From cloud computing and disaster recovery to sharing data and VoIP telephony.

Why EBC Group?

We offer a wide choice of connection options and we understand that any downtime can be critical or potentially disastrous for the running of your business. Our connectivity service is underpinned by our commitment to exceptional customer service and backed by our helpful customer support staff and qualified engineers.

Where connectivity is concerned having a robust, reliable, secure internet connection is key. As a Point of Presence (PoP) we are able to aggregate major UK carriers such as BT and Virgin on our own privately-owned network, connecting you with the partner who can deliver the best value service locally to suit your needs.

The Gigabit Broadband Voucher scheme was designed to enable SMEs businesses to receive faster and more reliable connectivity. But remember, the scheme is only open until the Government funding runs out, so if your business is interested, it should act now and register with approved Gigabit supplier EBC Group.

"EBC Group provide our internet which allows us to take a grid reference over the phone and input the data into our iPads to plot our journey. Previously we’d used maps which delayed our on scene time slightly, the new system is faster and within our job time is of the essence. Secure connectivity is also vital for our on-base weather station."

Fibre Broadband (FTTC)

Significantly improved speeds and performance

Enabling your business to work in new and more efficient ways

With faster speeds and increased reliability, Fibre Broadband is the next generation in business internet connectivity. Using fibre optic cables, it provides far greater speeds, both in upload and download performance and on average is up to five times faster than standard ADSL broadband.

Whilst not providing the speed and reliability of 'always on' connectivity provided by a leased line, Fibre Broadband far outweighs standard ADSL performance, and will enable your business to work in new and more efficient ways.

Faster speeds mean your business will experience less slowdown regardless of how many people are logged in to the network at the same time and can also do more bandwidth-heavy tasks at the same time, such as sending and receiving large files, images and video.

Your business will be able to connect with customers and suppliers quicker and in new ways, such as through VoIP telephony and unified communications

Key benefits

  • Far greater performance than ADSL Broadband
  • Speeds of up to 80Mbps
  • Existing lines can be utilised
  • A cheaper alternative to leased lines

Ethernet First Mile (EFM) Section

Ethernet First Mile (EFM)

A faster alternative to Fibre Broadband

Guaranteed EFM service level agreements ensuring you are never let down

Ethernet First Mile circuits (EFM) offer the security of Leased Lines but at a lower cost. A high performance is a more reliable connectivity solution for carrying voice, data and Internet access than Fibre Broadband.

EFM provides a dedicated, permanently available bandwidth connectivity. It is an ideal solution for small businesses with more sophisticated requirements, such as cloud services, VoIP or multi-site networking. It provides a cost effective alternative to a leased line and usually comes with the added benefit of faster installation times.

Despite being one of the best data connectivity services currently available, it is important to understand EFM’s limitations. Due to running over copper lines EFM can only reliably reach speeds of up to 20Mbps which is considerably less than the speeds achieved through a leased line.

  • Symmetrical speeds up to 20Mbps
  • SLA’s on downtime & reliability
  • Quick installation & deployment times
  • Supports VPN’s, telephony and VOIP solutions
  • Lower cost than leased lines

Leased Line

Always on connectivity

Opening your business to a completely new way of working

Benefits of a leased line

  • Fast performance: speeds from 10mb to 10Gb
  • Uncontended connection: never shared
  • Unlimited data: no limits on data
  • Variable bandwidth: giving you the ability to grow
  • Symmetrical connection: upload and download large files
  • Service Level Agreement: latency targets and response times
  • Free connection: available subject to survey
  • Site to site networking: connect all of your offices as one network
  • SIP trunking: run phones lines through line as SIP trunks
  • Fully exploit new tech: such as SIP, VoIP and Cloud Computing

A leased line, also known as a fibre circuit is completely dedicated to your business. It is a high performance telecommunications network connection, which can carry voice, data, Internet traffic or connect directly to EBC Group's Private Cloud. Speeds can go from 10Mbps to 10 Gbps.

How a leased line can help your business

Keep your business online by having your very own private dedicated internet connection, delivered over a fibre optic pipe. Pick and choose any speed between 10Mbps to 10GB, with the flexibility to turn it up and down if and when you need to. Having your own private connection means you will never get speed dropouts, even at busy times.

Employees need fast internet connection and traditional internet can slow down at any time without warning, causing poor customer experience and frustrated employees. A leased line provides uncontended symmetrical bandwidth at a guaranteed speed that never drops.

If your business hosts a website, Servers, have remote workers or automated backups you need your internet connection to always be available. A leased line helps you ensure you never lose connection, protecting your reputation and data.

A leased line helps protect your business from harmful cyber-attacks by managing your leased line connection through our dual, privately owned, multi-million pound Data Centres (Winner of the Data Centre Solutions award 2013). We provide multi failover circuits for redundancy and unlimited bandwidth. This makes EBC Group very unique, offering you a better seamless service and provides cost savings.

Choosing the right connectivity

When choosing the right connectivity solution for your business you will need to consider what you want your business to be able to achieve. An 'always on' leased line connection will enable your business to benefit from a range of new technology and often make significant cost savings in other areas of your business such as data storage and VoIP telephony.
